Reflection of Reflecting
From the speaker Alexander, I learned that one way to make the talk show more interesting is to focus the topic around a personal experience. I would like to find a news article relating to someone sickness or death from eating improperly because of the foods they had access to. The challenge that our group is facing is creating the script and finding placement for every segment of the show. Although we have a clear image painted in our minds its hard to get that across to the page. We can solve those problems by putting more time and effort into our script. After the script the next step would be to design the set. Being a facilitator of the Human Barometer game in Second Life was different but it was fun, I did not expect every one to be so engaged. I prefer playing the game in real life, only because we had a lot of technological issues. I believe minus those issues it could have been extremely rewarding.

Aggravation && Team work
Today was a very busy day. I started off on a down note and I am ending on a down note, but during the course of the day my mood went up and down. I had fun today although it was very aggravating to me. I think that it had nothing to do with work but more so the mood that I came to work in. I learned a lot about my project and we wrote a screen projection. Personal connections about how my topic affects my community is the face that I eat these foods and they way its produced definitely has a major effect on me. Interviewing each other was cool I learned a lot about camera angles and eye hand coordination. Some strategies are being on the same page as your group members, and keeping aggravation levels at a minimum. The group is progressing although there is a lot of aggravation on my part we are getting along further than usual.

Ready, Set, Go !
Today was a long day. We learned a lot of things that are beneficial to our research and our intent to build a set for our sustainable topic. It was aggravating and fun in the same breath. I enjoyed it. Although I came across a few ruff patches it was a good learning experience. I can not wait to learn how to build other object and get ready to set our stage
READY SET GO!
READY SET GO!
...STOKED!
There is a tree who wants to survive.
In order to do that it sheds not only once but twice.
Although we rake leaves in the fall,
we must rake them in the summer.
That tree you see does not want Fungi, and is unlike any other.
I feel so Stoked!
We NEED trees; RAKE em keep la Ciudad clean |
We did a community project in Fort Greene Park, Brooklyn, NY. We raked leaves to prevent fires from starting when people dump coal onto the ground after a barbecue. The leaves were there in the summer as they will also be in the fall, this is because it sheds twice to avoid catching a fungal infection. That was the coolest part of the project to me. We raked and we shoveled, we shoveled and we raked. Although the ending result was a sore body it was worth it. We got 44 bags ranging from 5-25 pounds full of leaves! We did a great Job helping cleaning the park
... "Everyone scream thank stoked (Camera man, Stoked)."
... Um, Everyone scream thank Global Kids ^_^.

Ice breakers w/o breaking the ice
TODAY SUCKED! I am so upset that I could not win at the Scavenger Hunt. I hate losing .. simply because losing is for losers ! Not only did I loose I did not even come in second place ! :( I am very sad, but I enjoyed second life more then ever before and High line park is a beautiful sight. I love the idea of the park! It was such a relaxing nice spot. I guess at the end of this I will admit that I did not have such a 'Succky' day. It was actually one of the best days I have yet to have at work I seriously enjoyed today and I hope we have more days like this. It was a pick me up when I came and I got annoyed a little in the middle, but then it was a pick me up when I am leaving. Ice breakers without breaking the ice !:)

1 2 3 ... CLOSE UP
I am ready for my close up ! There was a lot of interesting things that went on today starting with research on our individual subjects, going to a movie about global warming called an inconvenient truth, and ending with a sketch of our own virtual talk show ! There was a lot of work done today! Some ideas I have for my own talk show would be fundamental games and also a nice comfortable neutral colored studio so that my audience and guest can be relaxed. The mind map of the sub topics for our overall theme which happens to be food processing for my group was really exciting. What particularly stood out to me was the talk about high-fructose corn syrup ! Our group has progressed tremendously and I feel we are going to do very well on our talk show. There could be a little bit more participation but ultimately it has been really amazing !

...Climate justice
I learned that climate justice is about the development of the environment for all economic backgrounds, I also learned about the MRCJ foundation which focuses a lot on climate justice. The elevator pitch was a fun project, but I personally did not enjoy it more than usual. Something I would do differently on my elevator pitch is prepare more, and speak from the heart not a piece of paper. By exploring "Etopia" in second life I learned about oil, air, and how they are sources for energy I also learned about blackwater which is cleaned of the waste from our bodies.
